Antonia Weber

In her ceramic work, Antonia explores historical firing techniques such as barrel firing and smoke firing. She continues them in a contemporary way and experiences them anew through the influence of fire, smoke and atmosphere. She is particularly interested in the interplay between deliberate design and the unpredictable traces that emerge during the firing.

A separate field is the making of functional tableware from porcelain. Here, form, function, tactility and the particular qualities of the material are central. Both areas offer different approaches to ceramics, between primal firing processes and precise making.
